The Lovie Awards commend simpleshow for producing the interactive video course “Become a First Aid Hero”. The “learning nugget” is a fun way for would-be rescuers to brush up on vital first aid techniques.
Berlin, 20 January 2014 – First aid can save lives. But for rescuers to remember all the procedures and perform them correctly in an emergency, they need to review them on a regular basis. That’s why simpleshow, the explainer video producer, developed the interactive video course “Become a First Aid Hero” in collaboration with the German Red Cross.
The online course, structured as a series of simpleshow explainer videos followed by quick quizzes, won a silver medal in the “Health” category of this year’s Lovie Awards. “We’re very gratified that the judges were taken with our concept and its realisation,” says Kai Blisch, Managing Director of simpleshow. “The users can put themselves in the little first aid hero’s shoes as they brush up on basic first aid techniques in a fun, entertaining way. Also, the short learning units make the course flexible, so they can spread it out to fit into their routines.”
Christoph Müller, head of First Aid Training at the German Red Cross, is just as pleased about the award: “We put a great deal of knowledge and dedication into developing the First Aid learning nugget. So it’s great that our work has been recognised across Europe with this award.”
This is the third year that the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) has presented the Lovie Awards, which celebrate creative and inspiring online projects in the categories of websites, online advertising, internet video, mobile & applications and social. The panel of judges is composed of Internet experts, company founders, musicians and artists.
