The video explication medium simpleshow has complemented its management team with Detlev Weise

Detlev Weise is the new CEO and managing director at simpleshow
His main duties include the development of sales and distribution structures and the international marketing of the simpleshow format

Stuttgart/Berlin, April 16th, 2012: On April 1, 2012, the simpleshow team was delighted to welcome a new managing director. In his new position as CEO of simpleshow gmbh, Detlev Weise (52) is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the entire company, in particular the Sales, Marketing and Public Relations departments as well as Finance and HR. As such, he now joins the founder and creator of the paper cutout animation format, Jens Schmelzle (Chief Operating Officer), and the Chief Creative Officer, Kai Blisch, at the head of the company.

“We are delighted by the addition to our team”, said Jens Schmelzle, founder and COO of simpleshow. “In Detlev Weise we have gained a true expert in innovative technology and media companies with a wealth of experience in management and sales in a wide range of fields. He will now promote the internationalization which we have already begun to implement and further expansion in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland”.

As the first stage of simpleshow gmbh’s global orientation, Weise will be dedicating himself actively to the development of sales and distribution structures in the US and Europe from his base in Berlin, Germany. “Our strategic objective is to position ourselves as the world’s No. 1 among video explication media in the next few years. With film productions in 40 languages for global players such as BASF, Microsoft, eBay, Audi, and Bosch, simpleshow has already laid the foundations for an international strategy. This positive development now also needs to be mirrored in the fields of Sales and Marketing, and further resources implemented for the global scaling of Creation and Production”, said Weise.

Detlev Weise has already been able to gather considerable experience at globally operating companies such as, Alcatel, Reuters, and Dow Jones. As a consultant and member of the supervisory board he supported young technology and media companies in their growth and international activities. Prior to taking on his current function in the simpleshow team, Detlev Weise was COO and managing director leading the Sales and Delivery Organization of a web video and online marketing agency in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
