simpleshow joins the Art Basel movement in Miami
With miles of sandy beaches, classic Art Deco architecture, world-class museums, and a dazzling nightlife, Miami Beach ranks among America’s most iconic cities.
During Art Basel, Miami embraces the art world with special exhibitions at museums and galleries across the city, transforming the week into an exciting and dynamic cultural event. With more than 70,000 international visitors and over 250 of the world’s leading galleries participating, we don’t have to add, that this event is on top of the list!
Our simpleshow USA team has partnered up with three up-and-coming artists to join the movement. While staying true to our simpleshow classic style, these simpleshow videos feature each of the artist’s unique style.
Jude Thegenus, better known to some as Papaloko, has mastered all the disciplines of Haitian art, from native to modern. He has developed a unique and personal style of working with acrylics. Papaloko’s work can be found internationally in galleries, private homes, cafés, restaurants and nightclubs.
Van Alpert, a multi-media artist and film director, has returned to Miami for his first solo exhibition, “BLACK i”. He merges old Hollywood images with contemporary stylistic methods that adhere to a young, hip generation. He has created noteworthy pieces in various artistic mediums including sculpture, painting and graffiti.
Joey Diez is an autodidact from Miami who takes inspiration from the sea that flows throughout his work. Using the graffiti typography as the foundation, Diez transforms his art into shapes, figures, characters and body parts. The idea of communication is what drives his work, creating pieces that transcend languages and at the same time can unify its viewers with its universal themes and ideas.
ENJOY THE ART, JOIN THE MOVEMENT!
